Mary has engaged in a difficult exercise. That of expressing himself in front of the camera and answering the most intimate questions of Stéphanie Barneix.

The two waterwomen tackle together taboo subjects around their family, their loved ones, their sorrows and their greatest torments. However, sport has always been there to help people overcome their injuries, dramas and trials of life.

Here is Marie Goyenech’s feedback on the application of this 100% real exercise:

“I’m telling you my story.

When I was offered this exercise, I easily accepted without much thought.

It is an exercise that requires a real commitment.

Accepted that this story be known and heard. But will I say the right things, will I not try to cover up to protect myself, will I really give myself up.

It was hard to have to describe his life.

But I played the game, 1h of recording in cap to cap with Steph.

Some time later (not to say a long time later) I received my video for validation: I was the first one to go out.

But at that time, I didn’t want it to come out on the networks at all. I know my story, my family knows it, I don’t talk about it and I don’t want to have to talk about it. I don’t want pity on me.

I finally let the video out. I turned off my phone, let some time pass, and finally went back to her on the networks. To my great surprise, I received many kind and touching messages.

So I ended up forgetting about it and pretending that nothing came out and just being myself.

This is my story and now everyone knows it.

But nothing changes, I remain me, Marie. “
